Furniture slow down

As sad as it makes me to say this, I just don’t have the time to make beautiful pieces of furniture right now.  I returned to college last year and with that change also came the decision to give up my shop.  Re-designing furniture is such a huge part of me that not doing it almost hurts.  I hope to spend my WHOLE summer covered in sawdust, paint and furniture wax, making the world a better place one piece of furniture at a time.

Mad Hatter is here!

Finally!  After way too much time, frustration and stretching of my artistic talent, Mad Hatter is complete and ready to go have tea some place else.

This little table was one of my unexpected finds and although it has proven to be a pain in my behind, in the end it is one of the pieces I am the most proud of.

BEFORE:

As you can see this table just screamed ‘have tea on me.”  Thus the name Mad Hatter was born and the research started to find the best way to showcase this crazy boy.

AFTER:

I have never considered myself to be artistic, especially when it comes to painting designs.  Although I still do not feel I am an artist in that respect, I am very proud of myself for pushing through the frustration, shaky hands and anxiety this boy stirred in me.

Have I gone mad?

Well Mad Hatter is almost finished but here are a few pictures of him through out his transformation:
